Q: How did you meet Roger?
A: Fortunately for me I met Roger when I was still in my teenage years. I had a lot to learn and he was a magnificent mentor. I was privileged to have worked with him in the refrigeration business and regularly marveled at his command of so many different trades and skills that comprised the field of refrigeration. His practical knowledge and his in depth understanding of applied physics made each workday truly an educational experience. That foundational education has served me very well throughout time!
In addition, his moral strength and character were impeccable. Though it took a while for those traits to set, I also carry many of them to this day.
He taught me how to take off, navigate, and land an airplane with finesse. I can still do a two minute turn.
Thankfully he was a patient man and had a terrific sense of humor! I have regularly though about, and have been thankful for those things he taught me over the years and count him as a very important and significant blessing in my life.

MY BROTHER, ROGER TRESCOTT COLEGROVE (Brer’ Roger)
My big brother was someone I looked up to, someone who took care of me, someone who shared his life with me. Besides all that, there is much more to be said of my brother, Roger, as he was the most caring, kind, gentle, fun, creative brother ever.
When we were growing up, he did nice things like letting my sister and I hang out with him and he bought us radios for Christmas. He, being five years older, taught me when I was quite young to drive an old stick Chevy in the fields of the farm, taught me to water ski from his boat in Florida at Port Everglades, and let me drive his Cushman Eagle motor scooter. He was always thinking up fun things to do.
In our older years, he still cared for my sister and I, making sure everything was operating right at our homes. Even on vacation trips to my home in NC, he would look for things that needed fixing and spend his time repairing them.
He was a Godly man and was all about his family which included his extended family as well. He set an admirable example for my sons and all of his children and grandchildren.
Roger was witty and full of interesting stories and so knowledgeable about everything. I miss him so very much but am blessed with sweet memories of a wonderful brother.
