Obituary of Dawn Marie Gobeyn
Dansville – Dawn M. Gobeyn, 90 years of age, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, December 31st, 2024 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.
Dawn was born December 4th, 1934, in Albion, NY, the daughter of Harvey and Ethel (Lane) Knarr. She grew up in Morton, NY, and graduated from Brockport Central School in 1952. Dawn and Willis Gobeyn were married May 14th, 1955, and have celebrated almost 70 years of marriage. Over the years, Dawn and Willis have resided in Rochester, Hilton, Springwater, Parma, Groveland and for the last several years in Dansville.
Dawn and Willis have been Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 60 years and have been members of the Dansville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many years. For decades Dawn has impacted many lives through her Bible education ministry.
Dawn and Willis have enjoyed playing tennis and cards with friends and family for many years. They often vacationed at Fisher’s Landing on the St. Lawrence River and since retirement they spent winters at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Dawn was pre-deceased by her parents, Harvey and Ethel Knarr; and siblings, Rita, Perry and Harold. She is survived by her husband, Willis Gobeyn of Dansville; her children, Kevin (Sherri) Gobeyn of Summerfield, FL, Julie (Tim) Hendershott of Springwater, Gail (Gary) Hammond of Phelps and Lisa (Robert) Neufeld of Rochester; her 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn (Fidel) Gobeyn Martinez, Sarah (Jorge) Gobeyn Chino, Micah (Heather) Gobeyn, Hilary (Micah) Motil, Megan (Anthony) Profitt, Jenna Funk, Jacob (Galadriel) Neufeld, Jessica (Derrick) Sillen, Kristen (Daniel) Knoebel, and Nicholas (Rachel) Neufeld; her 6 great grandchildren, Gracie, Greta, Nora, Jonas, Maddox and Payton; her sister, Betty Westcott of Hilton; along with nieces and nephews.

Dawn’s memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 5th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Dansville, NY Kingdom Hall located at 349 Main Street, Dansville, NY.
